Maot Chittim - Pesach Support for Families in Need

  • It is an ancient custom to ensure that every Jew can afford to purchase their needs for Pesach. The original title of the fund drive (actually was a tax) was Maot Chittim -- literally "funds for wheat," providing funds to the poor to buy wheat from which to make matzah. Today we retain the name, though funds can go towards many things, such as a box of matzah or a new pair of shoes for a child. In the merit of your helping those in need, may Hashem bless you with all that you need. Thank you for your support!

Rabbi Zalmy Plotke, Director Chabad of White Plains
