answers Death may be scary for most .but it was created by G-d and we must understand its the end of a damaged body and everything that goes with it , sickness , pain, etc .be it caused by age, disease, accident .it may be sad to lose a loved one but it should be sadder if they were to live for ever in anguish. Trust G-d its the only way . P.s the soul lives on forever . Born a gentile. Live like a jew .. Reply

Gds will The man I believe is my beloved just broke it off with me.
I had prayed, before we met, that Gd just let me know what is to be truely loved by a man to give me that. How could I go through life and not know that kind of love. It didn't seem possible.
So, this man came into my life at a point where I was sure love was only physical. and I changed my mind and felt and was given love.
Now, he has left.
Is it my prayer that was faulty because I didn't ask for this beloved forever on this earth? Did I pray wrong? Do I now just believe that all things that happen are for a good reason? How? What can I do to go through this stage of grief the best I can? How do I not condemn myself for not following Gds law enough or not being good enough in the eyes of mere mortal man? Reply

aha you know this article reminds of what a person onces shared at recovery meeting...he said and I quote:
"Sometimes you get what you WANT
Sometimes you get what you NEED
and sometimes you just get what you GET...
But at times, what you GET becomes something far greater than anything you ever WANTED"
g-d knows us better than ourselves...he knows what is best for us..and he has this master plan we don't know of yet...we just need to accept because it can sometimes be the best thing that's ever happens to us Reply

death of son I, also, am really sorry your beloved son died. You deserve no pressure to find a "reason," just all the comfort, care and blessings in the world. Next week when I light the candles, I will say a blessing for you, and I hope everyone reading this will also. Reply

Perfectionists want to know why right away; if we're lucky enough to be humble and patient, the reason is unfolded to us - even if it was just an accident - because as we are made in G-d's image, he is just like we are, imperfect. We can either all be in this together or not. The choice, as always, lay with the individual. Reply

Yeah.. Can I share? Maybe the co-misery will make you laugh..in the middle of an important business deal I was running to catch a subway train. I fell on my hand--turned all shades of blue. I kept going--had to get to that appointment. Next day I was begrudgingly at the emergency room where I was told I had a break. What an inconvenience. Two days later I was at a hand specialist. Yes, it was broken and I fell in love with the hand specialist. Oy vey. Two weeks later I sheared a tendon running. I am a runner. Running is life to me. Have been a track star all my life. Back to the doctor who I am in love with. No running for awhile. No love either. But a nice visit. I was so inspired by this man I went back to reading Torah--or should I say maybe this was G-d's whole purpose for this insane exercise. Yes, THE reason--His reason. Reply

It's for a reason I, too had an auto accident. My car was totaled. My day was ruined. My only son who was sitting right next to me, died. Surely there must be a reason, but I haven't learned it yet. Reply

Divine Providence may be enhanced by a vision proceeding an event. 23 years ago, I was gifted a vision. 21 years passed, before I found myself dwelling in the vision. I had forgotten over the years, until I arrived at the place the vision portrayed.
So, G-d choose to enlighten me, clearly illustrating His Providence.

challenges There was once a king who had a beautiful flawless diamond that he treasured greatly. One day he notice a scratch on this diamond and was very upset. He offered a tremendous reward to whoever in his kingddom would remove this scratch. Many people looked at it and said that nothing can be done to remove the scratch until one brave & positive person said that he can. The king gave him the diamond and when he returned it the king saw that he had engraved into the diamond a beautiful rose using the scratch as the stem. This rose enhanced the value & beauty of the diamond immensly. Hashem is the King, the Jewish People are the diamond and our challenges are the scratch. It is our job to take this scratch and use it as a base for engraving a beautiful rose as we grow spiritually in our connection to Hashem. Scratches/challenges are for our own good in order to make us closer to Hashem & when moshiach will come we will have the clarity to understand why we went through whatever we did in our lifetim Reply

Wonderful words and all very true. Sometimes it's not easy to remember that we're not in the driving seat and Hashem is the one who guides our souls and the happenings around them.

question Ths is a great piece but what if I cannot come up with a reason as to what If I should glean what is relevant from a state of difficulty? What if my reaction is one of abandoning G-d's halachot in the face of rejection and pain? What if the lesson is too much to bear again? What then? What if the accompanied financial circumstances leave me in dire anxiety, dulling the desire to live, go on, do more? Reply
