Some 230 Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries in Israel, backed up by an army of yeshiva students, will be taking the light and message of Chanukah directly to the public with a host of menorah lightings, celebrations and special visits to Israel Defense Force bases. In addition, Chabad Houses are stockpiling thousands of menorah kits and pamphlets to distribute to anyone who requests them.
In a characteristic flourish, emissaries’ cars will be outfitted with roof-mounted electric menorahs.
Of note, Chabad’s Terror Victims Project will host special candle-lighting ceremonies with family members of terror victims at scenes of past terror attacks. Public figures are expected to attend.
The Chabad-Lubavitch Youth Organization is helping to coordinate the Chanukah campaign.
