Chasidic Library Unveils New Exhibition

A new exhibit in the central Agudas Chasidei Chabad library in New York sheds light on manuscripts and handwritten notations by successive Lubavitcher Rebbes. In recent weeks, Rabbi Sholom Ber Levin, the archive senior librarian, has led tours through the exhibit and associated collections, which present newly-discovered volumes and artifacts from key periods in Chabad-Lubavitch history.

New Chabad Opens in France

The Paris suburb of Fontenay-Sous-Bois is the new home of Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Shneor Zalman and Sheina Bracha Aharafi. Upon their arrival, the new emissaries quickly moved to start weekly Shabbat services.

French Consul Tours S. Petersburg Synagogue

To help kick off a year of cross-cultural exchange between France and Russia, Michel Aubry, the French Consul General in S. Petersburg, toured the city’s Great Choral Synagogue. Mark Grubarg, chairman of the local Jewish community, took the diplomat through the historic structure while they discussed ways to strengthen ties between the two countries.
