אהַֽלְלוּיָ֡הּ הַלְלִ֥י נַפְשִׁ֗י אֶת־יְהֹוָֽה: |
| 2I shall praise the Lord in my life; I shall sing to the Lord as long as I exist. |

באֲהַֽלְלָ֣ה יְהֹוָ֣ה בְּחַיָּ֑י אֲזַמְּרָ֖ה לֵֽאלֹהַ֣י בְּעוֹדִֽי: |

| 3Do not trust in princes, in the son of man, who has no salvation. |
|
גאַל־תִּבְטְח֥וּ בִנְדִיבִ֑ים בְּבֶן־אָדָ֓ם | שֶׁ֚אֵ֖ין ל֥וֹ תְשׁוּעָֽה: |
| 4His spirit leaves, he returns to his soil; on that day, his thoughts are lost. |

דתֵּצֵ֣א ר֖וּחוֹ יָשֻׁ֣ב לְאַדְמָת֑וֹ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַ֜ה֗וּא אָֽבְד֥וּ עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָֽיו: |

| 5Praiseworthy is he in whose help is the God of Jacob; his hope is in the Lord his God. |

האַשְׁרֵ֗י שֶׁ֚אֵ֣ל יַֽעֲקֹ֣ב בְּעֶזְר֑וֹ שִׂבְר֖וֹ עַל־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָֽיו: |
| Praiseworthy: is he in whose help is the God of Jacob, for the Holy One, blessed be He, promised him (Gen. 28:15): “Behold I am with you, and I shall guard You, etc., and I shall return you.” Now why is He praiseworthy? Because He made heaven and Earth and the sea, and since all is His, He has the power to guard him on the sea and on dry land; but a mortal king, although he watches him on dry land, cannot watch him on the sea. |

אשרי:
מי שאל יעקב בעזרו, שהבטיחו הקדוש ברוך הוא הנה אנכי עמך ושמרתיך והשיבותיך (בראשית כ״ח:ט״ו) ולמה אשריו לפי שהוא עושה שמים וארץ ואת הים וכיון שהכל שלו יש בידו לשמרו בים וביבשה אבל מלך עו"ג אם שומרו ביבשה אינו יכול לשומרו בים:

| 6Who made heaven and Earth, the sea and all that is in them, Who keeps truth forever. |

ועֹשֶׂ֚ה | שָׁ֘מַ֚יִם וָאָ֗רֶץ אֶת־הַ֖יָּם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֑ם הַשֹּׁמֵ֖ר אֱמֶ֣ת לְעוֹלָֽם: |
| Who keeps truth forever: To the end of many generations, He fulfills and keeps the truth of His promise. |

לסוף דורות רבים הוא מקיים ושומר אמיתת הבטחתו:

| 7Who performs justice for the oppressed, Who gives bread to the hungry; the Lord sets loose the bound. |

זעֹשֶׂ֚ה מִשְׁפָּ֨ט | לַֽעֲשׁוּקִ֗ים נֹתֵ֣ן לֶ֖חֶם לָֽרְעֵבִ֑ים יְ֜הֹוָ֗ה מַתִּ֥יר אֲסוּרִֽים: |
| 8The Lord gives sight to the blind; the Lord straightens the bent; the Lord loves the righteous. |
|
חיְהֹוָ֚ה | פֹּ֘קֵ֚חַ עִוְרִ֗ים יְ֖הֹוָה זֹקֵ֣ף כְּפוּפִ֑ים יְ֜הֹוָ֗ה אֹהֵ֥ב צַדִּיקִֽים: |
| 9The Lord guards the strangers; He strengthens the orphan and the widow, and He perverts the way of the wicked. |

טיְהֹוָ֚ה | שֹׁ֘מֵ֚ר אֶת־גֵּרִ֗ים יָת֣וֹם וְאַלְמָנָ֣ה יְעוֹדֵ֑ד וְדֶ֖רֶךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים יְעַוֵּֽת: |

| 10The Lord will reign forever! Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Hallelujah! |
|
ייִמְלֹ֚ךְ יְהֹוָ֨ה | לְֽעוֹלָ֗ם אֱלֹהַ֣יִךְ צִיּוֹן לְדֹ֥ר וָ֜דֹ֗ר הַֽלְלוּיָֽהּ: |
| The Lord will reign forever: He will perpetuate His kingdom with the redemption of His children. |
