| 1Of David. I shall thank You with all my heart; before the princes I shall sing Your praises. |

אלְדָוִ֨ד | אֽוֹדְךָ֥ בְכָל־לִבִּ֑י נֶ֖גֶד אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲזַמְּרֶֽךָּ: |
| before the princes I shall sing Your praises: before the eyes of the princes (kings). |
|
נגד אלהים אזמרך:
לעיני השרים (מלאכים):
|
| 2I shall prostrate myself toward Your holy Temple, and I shall give thanks to Your name for Your kindness and for Your truth, for You magnified Your word over all Your names. |
|
באֶשְׁתַּֽחֲוֶ֨ה אֶל־הֵיכַ֪ל קָדְשְׁךָ֡ וְא֘וֹדֶ֚ה אֶת־שְׁמֶ֗ךָ עַל־חַסְדְּךָ֥ וְעַל־אֲמִתֶּ֑ךָ כִּֽי־הִגְדַּ֥לְתָּ עַל־כָּל־שִׁ֜מְךָ֗ אִמְרָתֶֽךָ: |
| for You magnified Your word over all Your names: Your name is mighty, jealous, and vengeful, but You magnified Your word, so that You skip over Your standards, over all Your names, and You forgive us. |

כי הגדלת על כל שמך אמרתך:
שמך בעל גבורות קנוא ונוקם ואמרת הבטחת טובך וחסדך הגדלת על כל שמך אמרתך שאתה מעביר לנו על מדותיך וסולח לנו:

| 3On the day that I called and You answered me; You made me great, [putting] strength into my soul. |
|
גבְּי֣וֹם קָ֖רָאתִי וַֽתַּֽעֲנֵ֑נִי תַּרְהִבֵ֖נִי בְנַפְשִׁ֣י עֹֽז: |

הגדלתני:
|
| 4O Lord, all the kings of the earth will acknowledge You, for they heard the words of Your mouth. |
|
דיוֹד֣וּךָ יְהֹוָה כָּל־מַלְכֵי־אָ֑רֶץ כִּ֥י שָֽׁ֜מְע֗וּ אִמְרֵי־פִֽיךָ: |
| for they heard: When they heard the words of Your mouth: “You shall not murder; You shall not commit adultery,” they acknowledged the words of Your mouth: “I am [the Lord your God]” and “You shall have no [other god].” It is proper to make them first accept the yoke of His kingdom, and then He should levy all His decrees. |

כי שמעו:
כששמעו אמרי פיך לא תרצח לא תנאף הודו על אמרי פיך על אנכי ולא יהיה לך כדי הוא להקבילם עול מלכותו עליהם תחלה ואח"כ יגזור כל גזרותיו:

| 5And they will sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. |
|
הוְיָשִׁירוּ בְּדַרְכֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּ֥י גָ֜ד֗וֹל כְּב֣וֹד יְהֹוָֽה: |
| 6For the Lord is high but He sees the lowly, and He chastises the haughty from afar. |
|
וכִּ֚י רָ֣ם יְ֖הֹוָה וְשָׁפָ֣ל יִרְאֶ֑ה וְגָבֹ֖הַּ מִמֶּרְחָ֥ק יְיֵדָֽע: |
| He chastises: Heb. יידע, chastises, like (Jud. 8:16): “and with them he broke (ויודע) the men of Succoth.” |

ייסר כמו ויודע בהם את אנשי סכות:
|
| 7If I walk in the midst of distress, You revive me; against the wrath of my enemies, You stretch forth Your hand and Your right hand saves me. |
|
זאִם־אֵלֵ֚ךְ | בְּקֶ֥רֶב צָרָ֗ה תְּחַ֫יֵּ֥נִי עַ֚ל אַ֣ף אֹֽ֖יְבַי תִּשְׁלַ֣ח יָדֶ֑ךָ וְת֖וֹשִׁיעֵ֣נִי יְמִינֶֽךָ: |
| 8May the Lord agree with me; O Lord, may Your kindness be eternal. Do not let go of the works of Your hands. |
|
חיְהֹוָה֘ יִגְמֹ֪ר בַּֽ֫עֲדִ֥י יְ֖הֹוָה חַסְדְּךָ֣ לְעוֹלָ֑ם מַֽעֲשֵׂ֖י יָדֶ֣יךָ אַל־תֶּֽרֶף: |
| May the Lord agree with me: May He agree with my requests. |

יסכים ע"י בקשותי:
|
| the works of Your hands: The Temple, about which is stated (Exod. 15:16): “Your hands established.” |
|
מעשי ידיך:
בבית הבחירה שנאמר בו כוננו ידיך (שמות טו):
