Dear Shliach,
With this year being 50 years since the Rebbe launched mivtza Chanukah, there is an added energy—and an added urgency—to our efforts to make sure that every Jew is aware of Chanukah and is able to light a menorah of his or her own.
As part of our efforts to bring the Chanukah lights to social media—which has been a place of great darkness for many of the past year—we are calling upon all people to visit public menorahs, snap a selfie, and post it to social media with the hashtag #ShareTheLights.
As an incentive, we will be periodically raffling off Amazon gift cards to anyone who takes a picture, adds the hashtag #ShareTheLights and tags us at @ChabadOrg.
Here is what you can do to bring this campaign to your community:
- Adapt and print this sign, to place at the base of your public menorahs, so that people can snap, tag, and win.
- Adapt and share this social media meme to let your community know about this campaign.
- At your public menorah lightings, call for everyone in the crowd to snap a selfie, tag and post right then and there.
If you have any questions or need additional help, please reply to this email.
May this be the year that the Chanukah lights lead us directly to the lights of Moshiach, may it be soon!
