Model Seders Worldwide Demonstrate Passover Observance

April 3, 2008
As Jews across the world plan for the eight-day holiday of Passover, which begins April 19, synagogues and community centers are encouraging those who can have the Seder at home to do so. In keeping with directives from the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, rabbis will be offering model Seders in the days leading up to the holiday. As at one such model Seder previously hosted by Chabad-Lubavitch of Budapest, Hungary, the events teach children and adults alike about the Passover traditions.

Children read along in their native Magyar during a model Passover Seder hosted by Chabad-Lubavitch of Budapest. The Chabad House has published tens of books in the Hungarian language, including the Haggadah – or order of service for the Seder – thereby making Jewish traditions much more meaningful for the local population.
