| 1And it shall come to pass afterwards that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and daughters shall prophesy; your elders shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. |

אוְהָיָ֣ה אַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אֶשְׁפּ֚וֹךְ אֶת־רוּחִי֙ עַל־כָּל־בָּשָׂ֔ר וְנִבְּא֖וּ בְּנֵיכֶ֣ם וּבְנֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם זִקְנֵיכֶם֙ חֲלֹמ֣וֹת יַֽחֲלֹמ֔וּן בַּח֣וּרֵיכֶ֔ם חֶזְיֹנ֖וֹת יִרְאֽוּ: |
| And it shall come to pass afterwards: in the future. |

והיה אחרי כן:
לעתיד לבא:

| upon all flesh: I.e, upon anyone whose heart becomes soft as flesh. Comp. (Ezekiel 36:26) “And I will give you a heart of flesh.” |

על כל בשר:
על מי שנעשה לבו רך כבשר דוגמת ונתתי לכם לב בשר (יחזקאל ל״ו:כ״ו):

| 2And even upon the slaves and the maidservants in those days will I pour out My spirit. |
|
בוְגַ֥ם עַל־הָֽעֲבָדִ֖ים וְעַל־הַשְּׁפָח֑וֹת בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔מָּה אֶשְׁפּ֖וֹךְ אֶת־רוּחִֽי: |
| 3And I will perform signs in the heavens and on the earth: Blood, fire, and pillars of smoke. |
|
גוְנָֽתַתִּי֙ מֽוֹפְתִ֔ים בַּשָּׁמַ֖יִם וּבָאָ֑רֶץ דָּ֣ם וָאֵ֔שׁ וְתִֽימְר֖וֹת עָשָֽׁן: |
| and pillars of smoke: Heb. וְתִימְרוֹת. Perpendicular pillars of smoke, as tall as a palm tree. |

ותמרות עשן:
זקיפות מעלה עשן בגובה:

| 4The sun shall turn to darkness, and the moon to blood, prior to the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. |
|
דהַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ יֵהָפֵ֣ךְ לְחֹ֔שֶׁךְ וְהַיָּרֵ֖חַ לְדָ֑ם לִפְנֵ֗י בּוֹא י֣וֹם יְהֹוָ֔ה הַגָּד֖וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָֽא: |
| shall turn to darkness: to embarrass those who prostrate themselves to the sun. |
|
יהפך לחשך:
לבייש את המשתחוים לחמה:

| 5And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call in the name of the Lord shall be delivered, for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be a deliverance, as the Lord said, and among the survivors whom the Lord invites. |

הוְהָיָ֗ה כֹּ֧ל אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָ֛א בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה יִמָּלֵ֑ט כִּ֠י בְּהַר־צִיּ֨וֹן וּבִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֜ם תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה פְלֵיטָ֗ה כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה וּבַ֨שְּׂרִידִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה קֹרֵֽא: |
| And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call etc. as… said: And where did He say it? (Deut. 28:10), “And all the peoples of the earth shall see that the Name of the Lord is called on you.” [from Mechilta, Ex. 12:25] |

והיה כל אשר יקרא וגו': כאשר אמר:
והיכן אמר וראו כל עמי הארץ כי שם ה' נקרא עליך (דברים כ״ח:י׳):
